OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 5, 2009—Oklahoma Futurity finalist Jess Wanna Fly, from the powerful stable of Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, will head nine trials to the $1 million Heritage Place Futurity(G1) Friday night when she starts in the fifth race at Remington Park.

The five fastest qualifiers from nine trials races run Friday and the five fastest qualifiers from nine trials run on Saturday will advance to the $1 million Heritage Place Futurity final on May 30. The second ten fastest qualifiers will compete in the $75,000 Heritage Place Juvenile. Each trial race is worth $15,500, and is believed to be a record purse for a Quarter Horse trial.

Stanley and Smith's stable of two-year-olds this season includes recent Remington Park Futurity winner First Prize Leesa who is set to run in Saturday's trials.

They will also start Jess Wanna Fly, a daughter of second crop sire Fly Jess Fly, who comes into the Heritage trials off a 1 ¾ length maiden victory at Remington Park on April 25.

The gray miss, trained by Heath Taylor and ridden by champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr., qualified to the $355,000 Oklahoma Futurity(G2) in her first start. She finished ninth in the March 21 final. She has earned $25,820 with a record of 1-0-1 from three career starts.

In race eight Stanley and Smith will start First Prize Diamond, a Fly Jess Fly half-sister to 2009 Remington Park Futurity winner First Prize Leesa, who won her only start by ¾ of a length on April 5. The royally bred filly is a three-quarter-sister to two Remington Park Futurity(G1) winners and half-sister to two Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winners.

In the fourth trial (race 6) Fly Del Rey, a Fly Jess Fly filly racing for Fred Stanley and W.E. Smith, is a one-time winner from two starts. Ridden by Cody Jensen she is also saddled by Taylor.

First post Friday is set for 6:25 p.m. (CDT). Nine more Heritage Place Futurity(G1) trials will be contested on Saturday night at Remington Park.
