OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 9, 2009—Grade 1 stakes winner First Prize Leesa heads the final nine trials to the $1 million Heritage Place Futurity(G1) on Saturday evening at Remington Park.

Each trial race is worth $15,500, and is believed to be a record purse for a Quarter Horse trials. A total of 18 trials will be contested over the two days. The five fastest qualifiers from nine trials races run Friday and the five fastest qualifiers from nine trials run on Saturday will advance to the $1 million Heritage Place Futurity final on May 30.

The second ten fastest qualifiers will compete in the $75,000 Heritage Place Juvenile.

Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Down Leesa will meet the Manor Downs Futurity(G1) winner in the sixth trial (race 8) on Saturday evening.

Undefeated in two career starts, First Down Leesa has earned $313,512, with the bulk of that coming in the Remington Futurity final on April 18. From the powerful stable of her breeder Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, the daughter of Mr Jess Perry is a full sister to 2006 Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina and 2006 Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin.

Leading trainer Heath Taylor will saddle the industry's current leading money earner with champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr., aboard.

Stanley, Smith, Taylor and Carter will also team up in trial four (race 6) with Fast Prize Tracey. The Shazoom filly is a full sister to last year's West Texas Futurity winner and World Record holder for 300 yards, Fast Prize Zoom. After posting a bullet work at Remington she scored a ¾ victory in her first start on April 23. She's the morning-line favorite in race six at 3-1.

Trials for the Heritage Place Derby will be contested on Sunday night at Remington Park.
