JESS WANNA FLY TOP QUALIFIER TO HERITAGE PLACE JUVENILE Date Posted: 5/9/2009 11:34:24 AM Jess Wanna Fly and G.R. Carter, Jr. easily win their trial to the Heritage Place Futurity on Friday night. OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 9, 2009—Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith's Jess Wanna Fly was the fastest qualifier to the $75,000 Heritage Place Juvenile on Friday night at Remington Park.
Nine trials were conducted for the $1.1 million Heritage Place Futurity, with the top five qualifying times advancing to the May 30 final. A second nine trials will be run on Saturday to get the second five qualifiers. Jess Wanna Fly scored her second straight daylight victory when she won the third trial (race 5) in :17.634 seconds. She missed making the Heritage Place final by 11 one-hundredths. Ridden by G.R. Carter, Jr. and trained by Heath Taylor, Jess Wanna Fly won her trial race by 1 ½ lengths. On April 25 she broke her maiden by 1 ¾ lengths at Remington Park. The daughter of second crop sire Fly Jess Fly pushed her career record to 2-0-1 from four starts and earnings to $34,934. Earlier this season se qualified to the Oklahoma Futurity(G2). The home-bred filly for Lady Bug Stallion Station is out of the Disco Jerry-TB mare Wanna Be Me. |
