Photo by Coady PhotographyRUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 11, 2009— On Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs Fast Prize Zoom prepares for a possible start in the Grade 1 Rainbow Derby trials on July 3.
First post time is 1 p.m. with free parking and free general admission. The Shazoom filly was the nation’s premier juvenile a year ago after she won her first three starts. She set 300-yard world records in her first two races, capped by her win in the Grade 1 West Texas Futurity. Regular rider G.R. Carter Jr. gets aboard Fast Prize Zoom when she makes her first start since a third-place finish in her All American Futurity trial on August 14. Bred by Weetona Stanely, Fast Prize Zoom is out of Fast First Prize who won the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity(G1) and is also the dam of stakes-placed Fast Prize Doll, an earner of more than $80,000 . Fast Prize Rose, another daughter of Fast First Prize, brought $200,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale last summer. |
