FIRST PRIZE PARIS QUALIFIES TO SPEEDHORSE GOLD & SILVER CUP DERBY Date Posted: 7/9/2009 12:52:54 AM TULSA, OK—JULY 8, 2009—Three trials to the $100,500 Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Derby(RG3) were carded Wednesday evening at Fair Meadows in Tulsa.
The ten fastest qualifiers for will return on July 25th to contest the final. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith's stakes-placed First Prize Paris was among the top ten derby finalists. The daughter of Mr Jess Perry out of former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash has earned nearly $90,000 to 3, 2009. A second place finisher in the Black Gold 350 Futurity last season, she was also a finalist in the Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Futurity(RG1) and the Black Gold Championship. First Prize Paris is a full-sister to grade 1 winners' First Carolina ($415,047), First Prize Leesa ($313,512 at 2, 2009), First Prize Robin ($295,147) and grade 1 stakes placed First Prize Perry ($243,946).
