Photo courtesy: Remington ParkPURCELL, OK—AUGUST 17, 2009—Fred Stanley of Lady Bug Stallion Station announced today he has purchased ˝ interest in the grade 1 stakes winner and grade 1 stakes sire Spit Curl Jess from Arbuckle Stables and moved the horse to Oklahoma Stud Ranch for the 2010 breeding season.

We are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of his history.” A grade 1 stakes winner of $141,719, Spit Curl Jess won the 2004 Heritage Place Derby(G1), was second in the Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Derby(RG2) and Fair Meadows Juvenile. He was also a finalist in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), Heritage Place Futurity(G1), Oklahoma Futurity(G2) and The Championship at Sunland Park(G1). A second crop sire, Spit Curl Jess has sired 10 winners from 26 starters with earnings of $651,196 and average earnings per starter of $25,046. He is the sire of two stakes winners and one stakes placed runner. His first starter was multiple grade 1 winner Spit Curl Diva ($449,269, to 3, 2009), winner of the Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Futurity(RG1), Choctaw Blue Ribbon Futurity(G3) and Oklahoma Derby(G3). She was also second in the Remington Park Futurity(G1) and Remington Park Derby(G2). He is also the sire of 2009 two-year-old stakes winner Mondays Spit N Image, winner of three races in four starts including the Kansas Jackpot Futurity(RG2). The filly posted the fastest qualifying time for the $110,000 Oklahoma-Bred Futurity at Blue Ribbon Downs on Sunday (August 16). The finals will be run August 30th. By leading sire Mr Jess Perry, Spit Curl Jess is out stakes winner Lil Spit Curl by On A High, a sister to stakes winner High Dollar Spit.
